We were living in Oregon when I was diagnosed with colon cancer. My grown son and daughters were all working in the furniture industry and were familiar with City of Hope and what a wonderful hospital and research lab it was. We travelled over 1,000 miles to reach City of Hope for all the tests before my surgery for Stage 4 cancer and six months of chemo. They saved my life and are continuing to do so all the time. They have done a genetic study on me, and I have a mutant gene passed down from my dad.
I envision that some day they will find a cure for cancer. Never give up. Have a positive attitude. Just because you have cancer, does not mean that you will die. Keep the faith.
